Troubleshooting Trfyx

When analytics look wrong, start by checking the data collection path and report settings before changing your implementation. Many apparent reporting issues come from selecting the wrong project, date range, hostname, or filter—or from a tracking change that was not deployed as expected.

Data is not appearing

1

Check the project and environment

Confirm the dashboard is showing the correct Trfyx project, domain, environment, and date range.
2

Verify the installation

Compare the deployed tracking code with the current installation instructions in your workspace. Confirm that it loads on the pages you expect to track.
3

Inspect the browser

Open the site in a browser, use developer tools to check for script-loading errors or blocked network requests, and note whether a content security policy or browser extension is blocking collection.
4

Test a real action

Visit a tracked page and complete an intended action. Then check the appropriate report or event view for the resulting data.
5

Check filters and timing

Remove restrictive filters, broaden the date range, and allow for any documented processing or import delay.

Metrics look too high

Check whether the tracker is installed more than once, the same event is sent from both client and server, a repeated action fires multiple times, or an import overlaps with live tracking. Confirm whether the metric counts events, sessions, users, or conversions—these are not interchangeable.

Metrics changed suddenly

Review recent deployments, consent or privacy changes, campaign tagging, traffic mix, event names, filters, and import schedules. Compare equivalent time ranges and segments. A tracking change can create a discontinuity even when underlying user behavior has not changed.

Goals or funnel steps are missing

Verify that the event is triggered, the name and conditions match the goal or funnel definition, and the event reaches the expected project. Make sure the goal fires only at the confirmed success state. For funnels, confirm that each step is defined consistently and can occur in the intended order. See Goals and conversions and Funnels.

Session replay is empty or incomplete

Confirm that replay is enabled and installed according to the current workspace instructions, that the relevant sessions satisfy any configured capture conditions, and that browser privacy settings or request blocking are not preventing recording. Review privacy and masking settings before testing with real data. Do not weaken safeguards to capture sensitive fields. See Session replay.

Imported or revenue data is incorrect

Check the source and date range, timestamp timezone, event or transaction identity, currency handling, repeated imports, and duplicate events. Compare equivalent definitions rather than expecting every analytics system to have identical totals. See Import analytics data and Revenue attribution.

Before contacting support

Collect enough context to reproduce the issue, but do not send secrets or sensitive user data:
  • The affected Trfyx project and relevant page or report.
  • Approximate timestamp and timezone of the test.
  • What you expected to happen and what happened instead.
  • Steps to reproduce the issue.
  • Browser, framework, integration, and deployment details relevant to the problem.
  • Sanitized error messages or screenshots, with personal data and credentials removed.
Never share API secrets, authentication tokens, payment details, or unredacted session recordings in a support request.
